The High Bogs or Fens of Belgium are the Hoge Venen. This is a special area with a very different environment to the rest of Belgium. The Signal de Botrange is the highest point in Belgium at 694 metres (2,277 ft). There is Baroque Frituur and Baroque Michel Two winter recreation areas great for light walks in the spring.
There was a 1000 hectare fire just after I visited Hoge Venen and it is thus far the largest fire in history there. NO it wasn't me.
If you get the change to discover the Hoge Venen on a beautiful spring day you really will be lucky for the views of the high fens or bogs.
