I know this much is true....

work like a dog play like a dog, I am getting an overwhelming bored feeling about this place and it is even presenting a strange aw of homesickness, I have been polling a bunch of travelers and they all agree.. whether they are working here a long time or visiting for a couple weeks or just arrived three days ago.. this is what I figured out: a phenomena in Australia that is misleading and it all starts with the massive market for backpackers and budgets travelers to stay in hostels and backpackers places. Well here goes.. maybe many people who come here truly are backpackers or flashpackers or are used to getting around by the direction that the lonely planet advises and maybe they are intrepid enough to throw out the books and just go with the flow.. but the biggest problem here is the freakishly large commercialization that is rampant for tour booking and travel arrangements... it is crazy.. that is why I am so overwhelmed. plus the cost and price point of things is absolutely ridiculous.
$19.98 per liter for local apples and that is cheap. bread 8 bucks a loaf, beer 30.00 a six pack and its shit beer, 17.50 for a tiny probably the world smallest quesadilla,, WTF is happening food is so expensive and small portions blah blah if its so bad why dont I leave .. yeah i know.. basically i am a robot at this point. I like my job and am sticking around for it only .. But the best part is that I just looked at wicked camper vans to rent one way and drive all the way down to Melbourne in one month.
Hey the picture is lake matheson in South Island Nzed.. I will be there.. oh baby and yes it will be snowy and very cold.

Hi Miss Missy,
HAPPY HOLLOWEEN!!!
Glad to hear you are still O.K. but a little bored and homesick.
Had a wonderful 80th birthday party for Grandma. She enjoyed and so did everyone else. Seems like we have been celebrating it for days.
Nothing too much new here. Same old, same old.
Except, miss you a lot and will more so when the holidays get closer.
Love you Lots and Lots, Love Us

wake up and smell the coffee

Cold winds a blowin, sing songs a howlin. The weather is raw the weather is king. Shorter days knocking at the door. remembrances of yesteryear, the good old days, realizing they are permanently gone and that it will never be the same state again. Its a hard world to swallow sometimes, and especially as the time progresses and with that the expectations of adaption and evolution are ever present.. But it's easier to reflect than pro actively predict.! I am faced with the harsh reality that the place in the world that I am from , the magical all possible place that I come from is vanishing, slipping away and turning into a place of sour milk and no longer that rich golden land of milk and honey...... no dwelling but really dwelling. that is the state I sit in. the longing and desperation of knowing exactly how things would turn out. its gone its gone so gone gone gone... not hopeless just placeless spaceless danceless joyless empty outta wack adaptive acceptance

4th week of goodness and English lessons

As the last few days of September are approaching, the winter chill is permeating the air again. I like Autumn I like Fall but the rain and chill proves I am not as cop-able as I was when I was a child. The bitter chill cramps my legs and causes tingles in my toes. Stay warm stay dry and drink plenty of soup, avoid catching cold and don't forget to wash your hands often. These are simple things I can recall from the youth that lingered by. best of wishes as the seasons change and we reveal the autumn of our lives. love M
