Out today At Fort Cochin

My day begun with the events of a nice leasurly walk around the main boardwalk called Calvethy road or beach road. I saw and smelled all types of rubish but I always like to hear the waves and see the water.. this is the first time that I have seen the bay that leads to the Indian ocean..Huge cargo ships come swiftly while old chinese fishing boats move infront of the modern tanksers. the movemment of the water is quick and there were dogs and birds fighting for a bite to eat. I ambled forward and then was bored with the walk so I proceeded to the main market area, only to be invited to buy everything and anything. "fresh fish to cook for you madam" "come remember me, please come to my area i am a simple vender, spend your rupees here.." Vacation would not be the same if it werent for the people making a living of the tourist.
Please look at this wonderful ancient performance art called KATHAKALI, I was truely inspired and left with peace and harmony soaring around my head and the neck. very interesting, the LP (lonely Planet) recommends 2 showings, I recommend the India foundation showing. The other Images are from the beach today. be well next stop the back waters tour between two cities and then an Ashram stop. Love and happiness

Hi, Melisa. I can see you're having fun. Great pictures! Your descriptions are fantastic, too. Keep them coming. I'm sure the locals find you as interesting as you find them. It's obviously nice and warm there; quite a difference from the Western Hemisphere. Take care. Alan

perpetual days of in and out and up and down

some call it flow, i call it boring, that is how I felt this morning but then, I was cleaning next to our shoe cabinet and guess what I found;;;;;; with a huge cackle and an almost operetta schweltch I sang in fear of this hairy beast, but then quickly grabbed my camera to show the world. Any way the web spins, we are all in this together, and some of us are hairyer than others. No I did Not Kill this beast I relocated him or Her outside far away from my front door. But yes I keep going to see if it is still there. Love and fear M
