I had my first ever root canal today, actually only half of it. I had a perfect tooth yet through constant grinding I disattached the root from the tooth causing a sterile dead tooth, a painful but sterile problem, but then after we(the dentist and i) talked last month, I still had pain problems and all at once I took matters into my own hands and gave my self a nice pre treatment attempt of relieving the pain, I inserted a tool and pushed until the tooth sheard a nice square piece off and then I proceeded to investigate with another tool extracting gum pulp light yellow in color and kind of plaque-like in texture, actually not having more pain than I was already in so I continued making a nice whole in the middle of my tooth. But after rinsing and brushing I had'nt eliminated my pain but perhaps in hind sight slightly magnified it. But that was ok because I knew I would see the dentist today.
